OpenAI Conversion API

Track conversions from your OpenAI ads campaigns with the OpenAI pixel, and send events server-side with the OpenAI Conversion API.

What is it?

The OpenAI Conversion API creates a direct connection between your marketing data and the OpenAI systems, which helps optimize ad targeting, decrease cost per action and measure results. Events are sent from Lightfunnels’ servers, so they are not blocked by browser limitations or ad blockers.

Note: Please be advised that your Lightfunnels statistics and OpenAI data might not match up. Tracking platforms frequently employ diverse technologies and methodologies, which results in disparities.

How to configure OpenAI tracking with Lightfunnels?

Step 1: Add your OpenAI pixel

Log in to your Lightfunnels account and go to settings >> tracking.
Click Manage on the OpenAI card.
Under OpenAI pixels, click Add new pixels, enter a Pixel name and paste the Pixel ID, then click Add.

This is the pixel you will use in your Funnels/Stores settings.

Step 2: Get your Conversions API key

Get a Conversions API key from your OpenAI ads account. See OpenAI’s Conversions API documentation to learn where to find it.

Step 3: Connect the OpenAI Conversion API

On the OpenAI card, click “Connect OpenAI conversion API”.
Enter a Name for this connection.
Paste your key in API key.
In Pixels, paste your pixel ID(s) and press Enter after each one.
Click on Add to complete the setup.

Note: If OpenAI rejects your API key (for example, because it was revoked), LightFunnels removes the Conversion API connection automatically. If your connection disappears from the list, create a new key and connect again.

Test mode (optional)

Once connected, your connection is listed with its label, pixels and a Test mode toggle. In test mode, events are only validated by OpenAI and never recorded, so they will not appear in Ads Manager. Turn test mode off to start recording real events.

To remove a connection, open the actions menu next to it and click Disconnect.
